HVAF provides outreach to homeless veterans in central Indiana every day. We have two full-time peer outreach workers who visit homeless shelters throughout Indianapolis, as well as other areas of the city where homeless veterans may be found.
Clothing and food are available to homeless veterans, and outreach workers collaborate closely with the Indianapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center's homeless team to help veterans get off the street. Besides housing referrals, HVAF outreach workers refer veterans to the appropriate agencies for financial benefit information, medical and psychological care, employment assistance and other services needed.
